Intuition Liner Home-Molding Guide

FR Race skates use integrated Intuition heat-moldable liners. Molding shapes the liner to the exact contours of your foot for a precise, locked-in fit. You can mold them at home with a conventional oven by following the steps below.

⚠ Before you mold

Try both skates on first, wearing the same socks and any footbeds/orthotics you intend to skate with. Only mold if the skates already fit — not too tight, not too sloppy. Molding fine-tunes the shape; it will not fix the wrong size, so do not mold a pair that does not fit.

What you need

  • A conventional oven (never a microwave, heat gun, or open flame)
  • A baking tray
  • Thin skating socks and any footbeds/orthotics you will use

Molding steps

  1. Preheat & remove the liners. Preheat the oven to about 90–100°C (200–210°F). Take the liners out of the boots.
  2. Warm the liners. Place them on a tray and heat for about 8–12 minutes until soft and pliable (warm, not scalding). Watch them — never overheat.
  3. Prep your foot. Put on your thin socks and insert your footbeds/orthotics.
  4. Step in. Slide each warm liner back into its boot, step in, and close the buckles/laces snugly (firm, not crushing). Make sure your heel is seated all the way back.
  5. Set the shape. Stand with knees slightly bent (or sit applying even pressure) for about 10–15 minutes until the liner cools and firms up. Keep your toes off the front of the boot.
  6. Cool completely. Let the skates cool fully (a few hours) before skating.

Tips

  • Mold one pair at a time so each liner stays warm while you set it.
  • If the fit is not quite right, you can re-heat and re-mold.
  • A little heel lift can be reduced with a thin heel shim added before molding.
