Skate Fit & Sizing Guide
Just got your skates and worried they feel too tight? That's almost always normal. Here's how a proper skate fit should feel — and how to put them on correctly before you decide on a size.
How your new skates should feel
- Snug, not loose. A skate should hug your foot firmly — a little tightness at first is normal and eases as the liner breaks in. A loose skate gives you no control.
- Push your heel all the way back first. Before buckling, tap your heel down and back so it seats in the heel pocket, then fasten from the toe up. Most "too small" worries disappear once the heel is properly seated.
- Toes just brushing the front when standing tall is correct — when you bend into skating position, your toes pull back slightly off the end.
