Trinity Adapter on THEM 909 — Surprisingly Good Upgrade I tried a Trinity adapter on my THEM 909 because I wanted to turn the boot into more of an urban/cruising setup without giving up the fit and feel of the 909. The biggest difference is versatility. The 909 is originally a UFS aggressive skate, so with the adapter I can use Trinity frames and experiment with bigger-wheel setups for cruising, longer distances, and city skating. The 909 shell itself is supportive enough that bigger wheels actually make sense on it. The setup feels more responsive and much faster compared with the normal aggressive configuration. Bigger wheels obviously roll over rough pavement much better, and the 909 gives enough lateral support that it doesn't feel completely out of place as an urban skate. There is one compromise: stack height. Because you're putting an adapter between a UFS boot and a Trinity frame, you don't get the full low-to-the-ground advantage that a native Trinity boot provides. There's also extra hardware and a little extra weight. So if your only goal is Trinity skating, a native Trinity boot is still the cleaner solution. But if you already own and love your THEM 909, this is a really interesting conversion. You basically get two personalities from one boot: UFS for aggressive skating and Trinity/big wheels for cruising and urban skating. Pros: more frame choices, bigger-wheel capability, much better cruising, keeps the familiar 909 boot and liner. Cons: added stack height, additional hardware/weight, and it's not as elegant as native Trinity mounting. Overall: 8/10. A very cool upgrade for 909 owners who want one boot that can do more than aggressive skating.
